Why should I hide my pretty face with a dust mask?

Starting yesterday, April 15, the LA County Health Department started their own taxation: Taxation without representation is tyranny, right? For example, we certainly did not elect Barbara Ferrer, Dictator of the Health Dept. Anyway, LA now requires face masks to be chained to our face. I won’t do it. I won’t wear a face mask.

Ferrer wrote an order to force not only store owners and employees to wear masks, but everyone who wants to buy anything, including food. (This is probably illegal, as even prisoners (which we are) have to be fed. And because of her insane rule, I have not been able to go in a grocery and buy food for 2 weeks. UPDATED: 4 months. UPDATED: 10 months.)

This mask crap is a continuance of the weeks long lockdown ordered by Gov. Gavin Newsom, the First and the Worst of the Governors. If you don’t live in California, count your blessings, truly. It is a freaking nightmare.

Newsom’s Safer at Home order:

•   Stay home (stay unexposed and do not expose others)
  • Only go out for essential supplies or services or if they are an essential worker
  • Stay six feet or more away from others
  • Use a cloth face covering when they are a) in contact with other non-household members and b) when accessing essential businesses and services
  • Not gather in groups

Mystery: Why doesn’t LA County call a mask a mask? or a bandanna?

Notice that the 12 page document Safer at Home order and mask order from Barbara Ferrer doesn’t even use the word mask. Cloth face covering. Dust masks have a purpose; this  mask doesn’t. The county doesn’t care what you wear on your face, since nothing will work. They just want people to wear the uniform of a mask – it’s like how some churches ask you to cover your hair. :)

The military dresses the troops in uniforms for the same reason: to take away their individuality, and to teach the troops they are part of a “team,” under the control of the government. Hive mind, or mob mentality. The mask is a symbol that a) you are afraid and b) you will obey.

There are 2 reasons I decided I won’t obey this order, and I won’t wear a face mask: I choose to uphold my civil liberties, and after researching the coronavirus for a month, there is no reason for me to limit my oxygen. I get lightheaded in the heat as it is.

1. Your (and my) constitutional freedoms stolen by Gov. Gavin Newsom and why I won’t wear a mask.

• First Amendment: Freedom of religion, freedom of speech and the press, the right to assemble, the right to petition government.
• Fifth Amendment: No one can be tried for a serious crime unless indicted (accused) by a grand jury. No one can be forced to testify against herself or himself. No one can be punished without due process of law. People must be paid for property taken for public use. [like beaches, parks and public spaces, which we are not allowed to use now]
• Sixth Amendment: People have a right to a speedy trial, to legal counsel, and to confront their accusers.
• Eighth Amendment: Protection against excessive bail (money to release a person from jail), stiff fines, and cruel and unusual punishment. [Indeterminate sentencing – no end to it, like what we are going through with these orders and lockdowns – is called torture by the United Nations.]
• Tenth Amendment: Powers not given to the federal government by the Constitution belong to the states or the people. [I’m including this one just to point out the states have all the power – which is why it’s ridiculous to blame Trump. And why we have to hold Governors responsible for all the riots, destructions, and money grabs.]

The bolded parts are our rights. And I’m adding this from the Declaration of Independence:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

I consider the right to breathe freely (and not to be forced to lose my identity by covering my face) is necessary for my Life, Liberty and Happiness. This is also a health issue: I run, to keep fit, and keep my immune system healthy. Running with a mask is a big no-no.

It’s not a coincidence that face coverings both depersonalize you, and take away your freedom to speak out. A mask is a visible symbol that you are obedient to the state, and acquiesce to anything they ask you to do -including giving up your business, friendships, freedom, decision-making. Even your health, since you are forbidden to go to public markets, the gym, outdoors anywhere in LA! Even going outside for sunlight is frowned upon…and Vitamin D doesn’t go through windows.

And this is the second reason I won’t wear a mask. They’re stupid.  Cloth face coverings do nothing at all to solve the problem that all the doctors in the world have not solved yet: how to handle the coronavirus. If masks worked, we would have worn them for decades, for colds or the flu!

Why is it so contagious, with effects that range from nothing, to death? No answers. (Except, maybe they are labeling too many as coronavirus when it’s really a pre-existing condition…)

If no one knows anything, including the CDC and scientists, why is the government pretending they do? And that they know what to do to prevent it? “Cloth face covers” is as far from science as you can get. No instructions or directions or description with them, because they are a psychological panacea, to try to control the rampant fear that THEY started.

I wore masks in the studios, so I know how much goes up your nose and in your throat – and those were OSHA approved n95 masks! Not to mention: we also had to wear goggles. Current health admin thinks eyes don’t matter?

Gavin’s and the LA County Health Department’s same order also advises to “self-isolate” if you feel sick. Don’t even come into the hospital! Why? Shouldn’t public health worry that it’s Covid-19? Don’t they want to identify and treat you?

Nope! Because they know that most of the time it’s either a) your own hypochondria or b) you have COVID-19, but it’s no big deal. Plus, having you “self-isolate” is a very clever way for them to put you in lockdown, without them doing it. If the gov’t does it, you could sue them: if you do it, you do the work for them.

Health reasons for not wearing a mask

Now, some might say that anti-mask wearers have a mental or emotional problem. Who can tell? Not the shamers, who just like to proselytize.

Say it is a mental problem: feeling claustrophobic, panic, depressed, helpless…

Or a physical problem, like high blood pressure or feeling light-headed, or needing extra oxygen. When I’m nervous or overheated, or walk up very steep hills…I’ve been known to see red stars, like before you pass out.

Doesn’t matter whether it’s your head or your heart: under HIPAA, the Hipaa Privacy Rule means no one gets to ask, and you don’t have to tell. Privacy, baby.

The CDC disagrees with Barbara Ferrer and the LA County Health Dept.

The CDC calls it a “voluntary public health measure.” I wish Governor Newsom and Barbara Ferrer, Dictator of the LA County Health Dept, had read that before they made it mandatory. So why did the CDC change their minds about masks, and start crafting them by hand, Etsy-like? I think the answer to that is their name: “Public Health.” Public health departments are pretty weak as far as enforcement, and don’t even have any medical help to give us after 3 months.

But then came the billions of dollars in their pocket from the coronavirus stimulus bill, so they just threw up their hands and said, Hey! Let’s just get some needles and thread and see what happens. :)

And the horse is out of the barn, anyway. One medical study suggested 86% of all cases in China were undocumented! This last week studies from USC in California are similar, from Buzzfeed. Many thousands, probably hundreds of thousands of people have already had coronavirus and didn’t even know it. (Probably true about colds and the flu, too.) Social distancing is fraud – telling citizens it’s up to THEM to fix the problem!

Bottom line: in Los Angeles, I have a 0.0068% chance of dying from the coronavirus.  I’ll take that chance, and won’t wear a mask. Maybe I’ll get it, maybe I had it. Doesn’t matter. I don’t want to be a dancing monkey for the city and state, and play this game of Prisoners.

I won’t wear a face mask. But if you really really want to wear a mask anyway…

You really should, if you are sick, or are around sick people. Or have some immune problem. Or if you are a criminal. (Car thefts are up 10%, this month alone, in Los Angeles. Wonder why.)

TL,DR – only medical grade (OSHA) masks are good enough to prevent infection from COVID-19. Of course, anything you stick on your face will protect you from some particles, but viruses are very teeny! And all masks are uncomfortable and compromise your oxygen, while holding in CO2 and bacteria. The cloth ones are literally just dirt catchers stuck on your face.

From Freedom to Breathe by (A. SOLZHENITSYN), this is beautiful, and it’s how I feel every time I walk or run in this newly clean city. Without a mask.

Inhaling as deeply as I can, the aroma invades my whole being; I breathe with my eyes open, I breathe with my eyes closed – I cannot say which gives me the greater pleasure.

This I believe, is the single most precious freedom that prison takes away from us: the freedom to breathe freely, as I now can. No food on earth, no wine, not even a woman’s kiss is sweeter to me than this air steeped in the fragrance of flowers, of moisture and freshness.
